Do you collect the eggs by hand?
Yes, every single egg at Stora Svälte is collected and selected by hand.
To be honest, our hand-picking probably doesn't change the delicious taste—all those credits go to our hardworking hens! But we like to think you can taste the extra care and attention that goes into every box.

"Why aren't we KRAV certified? It’s a question we value.
We believe in the principles of organic farming; in fact, we feed our hens KRAV-certified feed. However, we’ve chosen to invest our time and resources into a 'beyond-certification' approach.
For us, animal welfare and regenerative land management go further than a label. For example, KRAV standards don't guarantee fresh, green pasture. Our hens spend at least 6 months of the year in a 'mobile' system—moving across our fields so they always have fresh grass under their feet, rather than a worn-down patch of dirt.
We’d rather spend our energy on the land and the animals than on administrative paperwork. We invite you to come see the difference for yourself!"

Ärligt talat förändrar vår handplockning förmodligen inte den utsökta smaken – all den äran går till våra hårt arbetande hönor! Men vi vill gärna tro att du kan smaka den extra omsorg och uppmärksamhet som läggs ner i varje låda.

"Varför är vi inte KRAV-certifierade? Det är en fråga som vi värdesätter.
Vi tror på principerna för ekologiskt jordbruk; faktum är att vi matar våra höns med KRAV-certifierat foder. Vi har dock valt att investera vår tid och våra resurser i en strategi som går utöver certifiering.
För oss är djurens välbefinnande och regenerativ markförvaltning viktigare än en etikett. KRAV-standarderna garanterar till exempel inte färska, gröna betesmarker. Våra höns tillbringar minst sex månader om året i ett ”mobilt” system – de flyttas runt på våra fält så att de alltid har färskt gräs under fötterna, istället för en nedtrampad jordplätt.
Vi lägger hellre vår energi på marken och djuren än på administrativt pappersarbete. Vi inbjuder dig att komma och se skillnaden med egna ögon!”
